LIPOSOMEs
PMLs - PLURILAMELLAR MULTIVESICULAR IPOSOMES
PMLs are very well-defined phospholipidic liposomes entrapping liposomes which exhibit important cosmetic benefits: stability in emulsions, sustained diffusion through the epidermal layers and high moisturizing profile. PMLs can be incorporated in cosmetic formulations at concentrations of 5 - 10%. A detailed dossier on PMLs is available upon request.
OLPCs - OLIGOLAMELLAR LIPOSOMES OF PHOSPHOLIPIDS AND CERAMIDES
OLPCs are a special kind of liposome where phospholipids and vegetal ceramides are packed together into the bilayers of oligolamellar liposomes. OLPCs are stable in emulsions and enhance the intercellular cohesion of the horny layer of the epidermis preventing transepidermal water loss (TEWL). VECOREXIN
VECOREXIN is a special liposomal system designed to anchor on the outer layer of your hair, the cuticula, and then penetrate to the internal layers for anoptimal delivery of the actives. MICROCAPSULES, MICROSPHERES AND MICROSPONGES
 

Different particulate delivery systems based on polysaccharides have been developed to prevent degradation of unstable cosmetic raw materials. The size of the particles is around 1 - 10 ?m, and they can be easily incorporated in cosmetic formulations of 5 - 10%.

THERMOSPHERES-15
 

Delivery system that consists of a core of silica or starch. Their starch matrix is slowly degraded by several mechanisms enabling a controlled release of the inner actives. Termospheres-15 are specifically formulated to withstand high temperatures for their formulation in lipsticks. The size of the termospheres is around 10 - 30 ?m, and they can be incorporated in cosmetic formulations of 1 - 5%.

A2 MILLICAPSULES
 
Our experience in A2 MILLICAPSULES enables us to offer them completely customised:
o they can contain a wide range of ingredients,
o they are available in three sizes: 3, 2 and 1 mm. of diameter,
o and in any colour under a Pantone reference, with productions subject to sample colour approval.
A2 MILLICAPSULES are formed by two natural marine derived polymers: agar and alginic acid, and they are stable over wide pH and temperature ranges. They can encapsulate between 5-10% of oil soluble material and they are supplied in an aqueous carrier as a bulk phase.
EM - EMULSION
 

EMULSION A2 MILLICAPSULES are designed to entrap a high oil content - up to 10% - enabling the release of oil upon rubbing, for an in situ emulsion formation. They are especially recommended for SKIN CARE applications.

MSGS - MILLICAPSULES for SHOWER GELS and SHAMPOOS
 
MSGS A2 MILLICAPSULES are designed for special resistance in systems with high tensioactive content. They are covered with a polymeric structure for enhanced stability. Due to their special stabilising scaffold they can trap a lower oil content - up to 2%.
They are especially recommended for HAIR CARE applications, where shampoos and shower gels contain significant amounts of surfactants.
MAKE UP
 
MAKE UP A2 MILLICAPSULES contain pigments - up to 10% - enabling the release of colour upon rubbing, for novel make up formulations. They are especially recommended for SKIN CARE applications.
MOLECULAR FILMS

They are very thin monolayer molecular films obtained at low temperature and high pressure using microfluidising techniques. They are very easily absorbed by the skin and provide a very pleasant feeling. They are formed using natural polymers.

NEW CONCEPTS FOR NATURAL ACTIVE INGREDIENTS

An outgrowth of innovation first developed at the University of Barcelona, Lipotec’s major cosmetic technologies include microencapsulation, macroencapsulation, polymer-based specialties and liposomal delivery systems. A wide range of capability in encapsulation exists, including oils, aqueous-based materials and even highly ionic solutions, such as AHA’s. Diverse liposomal capability with special expertise in plurilamellar multivescular liposomes allows for higher loading. Additional specialties include novel anti-oxidant botanical complexes and synthetic melanin.
